From Bring The Change
Bring The Change is thrilled to announce the return of the seventh annual Berks Cultural Diversity Festival, filling Reading’s City Park Bandshell with music, flavor, and global tradition on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In alignment with America’s Semiquincentennial, this year’s festival takes on an extraordinary theme: “250 Years of Unity: From Many Roots, One Community.” The celebration honors the rich tapestry of global heritages that have shaped Berks County’s resilience and strength over two and a half centuries.
This milestone year is proudly presented by Customers Bank, whose Title Sponsorship leads a community-wide coalition to keep the festival vibrant, free, and accessible to all.
“The Berks Cultural Diversity Festival is a living showcase of our shared story,” said Alexander Civil, founder of Bring The Change. “With the incredible backing of Customers Bank and our community partners, we are bringing our neighbors together to celebrate where we come from and where we are growing together.”

A festival of sights, sounds, and flavors
From opening drumbeats to the final encore, attendees will experience a lively day of immersive culture, including:
- Live performances: Captivating traditional dances, vibrant global music, and expressive spoken-word poetry.
- A taste around the world: A bustling array of food trucks serving authentic culinary traditions from across the globe.
- Interactive cultural tour: Free interactive cultural tables offering passport-style learning for all ages, complete with festival swag bags for those who visit every culture.
The festival’s impact is amplified through deep collaborations with local leaders, including Ilead, Penn State Berks, Kutztown University, Reading Area Community College, JCWK Dance Lab, Rize, Centro Hispano Daniel Torres, NAACP Reading Branch, and CICOP Ministry.
