ReadingFilmFEST has announced an official partnership with emerging media and streaming platform Pixquid, creating an immediate post-festival monetization pathway for independent filmmakers in Berks County and beyond. As part of the collaboration, award-winning films from ReadingFilmFEST will be highlighted directly on Pixquid’s global platform.
For decades, indie filmmakers have navigated a persistent bottleneck: while thousands of films enter festivals each year, less than two percent ever secure formal distribution. Traditional sales routes often require predatory middlemen and gatekeepers who command steep commissions and exclusive lockups. Pixquid solves this barrier by connecting creators directly to commercial distributors on an ad-free, gatekeeper-free, and non-exclusive platform. Through Pixquid, filmmakers retain ownership of their intellectual property, use the platform as a personal marketing suite, network with fellow artists, and earn revenue through direct-to-consumer Pay-Per-View screenings.
Pixquid Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Jared Hoffa, a native of Berks County, will attend the festival to meet with local creators, answer questions, and lead two educational industry workshops:
