Help A Girl Out (HAGO) USA is announcing an additional fall supply of essential period products available to community partners across Berks County.
Earlier this year, HAGO USA distributed over 138,000 units of hygiene products across the region. In collaboration with logistics and distribution partners Helping Harvest and Co-County Wellness Services, supplies were delivered to affiliates of the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU), Schuylkill Intermediate Unit (Schuylkill IU), United Way of Berks County, and Schuylkill United Way.
Over the summer, HAGO USA partnered with Alvernia University to establish ongoing access points across eight Reading Public Library locations. Each participating library maintains a HAGO USA distribution box in its facility, allowing community members to access pads, tampons, wipes, and liners free of charge.
Building on these efforts, HAGO USA recently collaborated with First Lady Lori Shapiro for Period Action Day, generating a bonus distribution of over 11,000 additional period products. While HAGO USA’s primary campaign cycle launches annually in February and delivers core inventory by late spring, this bonus supply allows the organization to fulfill supplemental requests from new community partners this fall.
Where to find HAGO USA next
HAGO USA will be present on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Berks Heritage Center (1102 Red Bridge Road, Reading) for the Girls on the Run Berks County Fall 5K Celebration, providing information, Period Action Day collection kits, and community connections.
How organizations can request products
Schools, shelters, non-profits, and community groups seeking period products (pads, tampons, and liners) for their constituents can submit an order request. Products are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
