September 8, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
The program will be presented by the Senior Protection Unit of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and Curran Estate & Elder Law, PLLC, a Reading-based law firm.
The first part of the program will feature Attorney David Shallcross, Director of the Senior Protection Unit in the PA Office of the Attorney General and will focus on scams including those directed specifically to senior citizens, tech repair scams, and “sweetheart” swindles. Attorney Shallcross will also offer information on how to protect yourself and those you love from such scams, and other types of fraud and exploitation.
Rose Kennedy, Esq., will discuss Estate Planning and Elder Law in the second half of the program. When should you plan your estate, why do it, and who should be involved, are some of the questions she will answer. A member of both the Pennsylvania and Berks County Bar Associations, Attorney Kennedy has worked in the fields of estate planning and elder law for most of her career, first in Philadelphia and now in Berks County.
The program is free and open to the public; there will be light refreshments. Registration is required and may be done at www.wyopublib.org, or by phone at 610-374-2385. If you plan to attend, please use the library entrance on Franklin Street, which will be available at 9:45 AM.
