From Reading Area Community College
The Reading Area Community College recently welcomed Mike Simmons to its Board of Directors. Simmons is Director of Community Engagement at Penske Transportation Solutions, a leading transportation and logistics provider based in Reading, PA.
Simmons directs Penske’s corporate giving initiatives, nonprofit collaboration, and cross-sector partnerships in the Berks County area. He is responsible for evaluating and directing philanthropic investments, guiding sponsorships and donations, and identifying opportunities that deliver measurable community impact.
Joining the Penske organization in 2013, Simmons served as Director of Market Intelligence before taking on his current role. Prior to Penske, Simmons worked for the Greater Reading Economic Partnership as Director of Marketing and Research. He began his career in city management in Westminster, CO. Simmons also sits on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Berks County.
Simmons holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in public administration from American University. He resides in Wyomissing, PA, with his wife and three children.
