Conrad Weiser Theatre Presents Les Misérables: School Edition

From Conrad Weiser Theatre Company

The newly renovated CWHS Auditorium will be transformed into 19th-century France this spring as the Conrad Weiser Theatre Company (CWTC) proudly presents the global phenomenon Les Misérables: School Edition. Running April 17-19, this production brings one of the most celebrated musicals of all time to the local stage. Community members are encouraged to secure their seats early for this highly anticipated theatrical event.

Les Misérables: School Edition follows the emotional journey of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner seeking redemption while being relentlessly pursued by the uncompromising Inspector Javert. This “School Edition” maintains the integrity of the original masterpiece, featuring the legendary score that includes classics such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and the stirring anthem “One Day More.”

Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Conrad Weiser High School Auditorium. Admission is $10.00 in advance. Limited tickets will be available at the door on the day of the performance for $12.00. To purchase tickets now, visit cwtheatreco.org or call the box office at 610-693-8542 ext. 6654 for assistance.

Beyond the barricade: Community outreach initiative

In the spirit of the show’s themes of compassion and social justice, CWTC is proud to host local social service organizations in the lobby during intermission and following each performance.

The company has invited groups whose missions mirror those depicted in the musical to share resources and information with their audiences. This initiative aims to turn the inspiration found on stage into tangible support for their neighbors in the CWASD and Berks County at large.

Know before you go: Content advisory

Les Misérables: School Edition is a faithful adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel, which depicts themes such as suicide, loss of life, historical conflict/violence, exploitation of women, child neglect, poverty, and emotional intensity. The production also utilizes smoke, lighting effects, and loud sound effects (including gunfire). These elements support a story of forgiveness, resilience, and hope, but audience discretion is advised. For a full content advisory, visit cwtheatreco.org/content-advisory.

Les Misérables: School Edition is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
