From Greater Reading Chamber Alliance
De Mujer a Mujer, a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), invites the community to a presentation titled “Finances with Confidence” on Thursday, June 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Tec Centro located at 450 S. 6th St. in Reading.
Finanta’s Michelle Leguisamon and Abigail Torres will present a practical workshop designed to help women better understand both personal and small business finances — without the confusing jargon. Attendees will learn how credit scores, cash flow, debt, and financial organization can impact their future opportunities, especially when it comes to securing funding for a business.
The evening will also include the seventh annual De Mujer a Mujer Awards, recognizing remarkable women in Berks County who exemplify leadership, community commitment, and entrepreneurial success.
Auria Bradley, Associate Vice President – Workforce & Continuing Education, Reading Area Community College (RACC), will be awarded the Community Impact Award. This award honors a woman who has made a lasting impact through her dedication to service and leadership, and a woman who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the community.
Jennasea Rodriguez, RACC student and youth development professional at Olivet Boys & Girls Club, will be given the Young Changemaker Award. This award highlights a promising young woman who is already making a difference and shows great potential to lead, and a young woman, ages 18 to 25, showing strong leadership and community dedication with high potential to be a future leader in Berks County.
Katy Ogando-Canseco, CEO & Co-Owner, Disc Center of Reading, will receive the Small Business Owner Award, which recognizes a dynamic entrepreneur who is making waves through both business success and community involvement, and a woman business owner thriving in and engaging with the Berks County community.
Interpretation services will be provided through a partnership with Our Konnection.
Registration is required. Tickets are $25.00 for GRCA members and $30.00 for future GRCA members.
