Dust off your caftan, throw on your chunky jewelry, and grab your favorite Stanley or Helen! Berks Encore invites the community to its second annual Roper Romp on Saturday, Aug. 1, beginning with brunch at 11:30 a.m. at Sly Fox Brewing Company in Wyomissing.
Inspired by the beloved Mr. and Mrs. Roper from the classic 1970s sitcom Three’s Company, the Roper Romp is a lighthearted, family-friendly event that combines costumes, laughter, local businesses, and community spirit — all while supporting the important work of Berks Encore.
Participants are encouraged to dress as the iconic television couple and enjoy an afternoon of fun as they visit several popular West Reading establishments. Along the route, participants will enjoy light fare, exclusive drink specials, games, photo opportunities, and plenty of laughs with fellow “Ropers.”
“The Roper Romp is all about bringing people together for a unique experience while supporting local businesses and a meaningful cause,” said Mindy McIntosh, Director of Development at Berks Encore. “Whether you’re a devoted Three’s Company fan or simply looking for a fun day out with friends, this event is sure to create lasting memories.”
Registration is now open at BerksEncore.org/RoperRomp. Tickets are $60.00 per person or $100.00 for two people. Registered participants will receive event details, including participating establishments, food and drink specials, games, and photo opportunities. Each participant will also receive a commemorative souvenir fan and a reusable event cup.
Proceeds from the event benefit Berks Encore and help provide essential programs and services that empower older adults throughout Berks County to live independent, healthy, and engaged lives.
