Tower Anniversary Climbs and Grounds Exploration

Open to the Public

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – William Penn Memorial Fire Tower

Meet us at the summit of Mount Penn and experience The Tower for yourself!

Tour the historic William Penn Memorial Fire Tower, climb to the top and take in the spectacular 60-mile panoramic view, and explore the surrounding WPA-and CCC-era grounds.

Skyline historians Corrie and Mike will help bring the mountain’s history to life as you discover remnants of the Gravity Railroad, learn about the former Summit House hotel, and explore the stories hidden throughout this historic landscape.

Exclusive vintage-inspired Tower souvenirs will also be available for purchase.

Climb The Tower. Celebrate Its History. Help Preserve Its Future.

Everyone who climbs to the top will receive a FREE “I Saved The Tower” button, while supplies last!

Whether you’ve lived in Berks County your entire life or have always wondered about that stone tower on the mountain, this is your chance to discover the history, stories, and spectacular views of one of Reading’s most fascinating landmarks.

Come celebrate the anniversary of The Tower with us!
