From Thorn Alley Kitchen
Thorn Alley Kitchen, located in downtown Reading at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, is launching Sunday brunch beginning Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a creative new menu developed by Chef Harley Eighmey. The restaurant is also welcoming Malik Moss as its new General Manager, marking a new chapter for one of the region’s top-rated dining destinations.
Since opening in April, Thorn Alley Kitchen has earned an enthusiastic following for its craveable, feel-good food, thoughtful ingredients, and distinctive atmosphere. Sunday brunch builds on that success, introducing a combination of familiar breakfast favorites and inventive dishes that reflect the restaurant’s creative approach to food.
Highlights include Fried Chicken and Waffles featuring twice-fried, locally raised Bell & Evans chicken in a gluten-free rice flour batter, Shrimp and Grits with chorizo and golden figs, a Breakfast Burger made with grass-fed beef, fried egg, and pesto aioli, Whipped Ricotta on challah toast, Shaksuka Pizza, and The Big Breakfast Bowl. Guests will also find traditional favorites with a signature “Alley” twist, including Breakfast Tacos, Eggs Benedict, Omelet, and French Toast.
Brunch beverages include mimosas and a mimosa flight, Bloody Marys, espresso martinis, and specialty coffee from Passenger Coffee of Lancaster. The menu boasts popular pastries from Sweet Street Desserts and a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian selections.
Alongside the new brunch offering, Thorn Alley Kitchen is introducing Malik Moss as General Manager. Under Moss’s leadership, the restaurant is refining its service operations to create an even more welcoming and seamless guest experience, including enhanced staff training, more efficient coordination between the kitchen and dining room, and the introduction of Resy, a reservation system to improve guest flow.
“Thorn Alley Kitchen has already established itself as a destination for outstanding food in downtown Reading, and we’re excited to build on that foundation,” said Moss. “We’ve been listening carefully to our guests as we continue to refine the experience. We’re proud of the reception our food has received and equally committed to delivering hospitality that matches that quality.”
