BCTV is excited to introduce Breanna Zele and Mike Kelley as our Berks Service Corps employees for Summer 2020. CareerLink and United Way have partnered to provide relevant workplace experience to young adults by placing them with local nonprofit organizations through Berks Service Corps.
CareerLink first placed Mike with BCTV last summer, and he was excited to come back this year to learn more while working on live and taped programs, editing, and curating digital content. Mike says his placement at BCTV is perfect since he studies Digital Media and Photography at Marywood University. At BCTV, Mike uses professional equipment and collaborates with other employees. “My favorite thing about working here is being able to meet new people with different backgrounds in my community.”
Breanna joined CareerLink this summer as an opportunity to meet people in her field of interest and get more real-life experience. Along with helping during live and prerecorded shows Breanna updates intros for existing programs and designs creative graphics for various applications. “I’ve gotten a lot more practice with the programs I use to make the intros and feel a lot more confident using them.” Breanna is studying Communication Design at Kutztown University.
Mike and Breanna are terrific team members and we are excited to keep helping them improve their skills, while they bring fresh talent and new ideas to our organization. Other community members ages 18-24 who are looking for engaging employment can look into the next Berks Service Corps session running form late July to early November with funding from the Berks County Workforce Development Board.
Applications are being accepted now through the Young Adult Program at PA CareerLink® Berks County. To make a referral or learn more, please contact Yerli Torres, ytorres@bccl.org or 484-6503512. PA CareerLink® Berks County is an equal opportunity employer/program.
