Berks County Parks & Recreation will present the 35th year of an annual favorite – Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill – starting Friday, Dec. 1.
Visitors can stroll the grounds to view a glistening light display highlighting the historic buildings and landscaping at Gring’s Mill. Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill will be open Fridays through Sundays, Dec. 1 to Dec. 17, and from Monday, Dec. 18 to Friday, Dec. 23. After Christmas, Holiday Lights will reopen (without Santa) from Thursday, Dec. 28 to Saturday, Dec. 30. Opening hours will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with free parking and admission.
After enjoying the walk-through light display, visitors can enjoy food and beverages from local food trucks, warm up next to the fire pit, and listen to live music in the outdoor pavilion each night (music from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.). Don’t miss a chance to look up at our model train display in the former generator station on the bridge.
Santa will make appearances throughout the month in his Christmas Tree Lane located in the barn.
New this year is a special opening ceremony called ‘First Night at Holiday Lights’ on Friday, Dec. 1. One of our new displays will be turned on promptly at 5:30 p.m. with special music and Santa’s arrival to ring in the holiday season! On this night, please allow extra time to park and walk to the site.
Other special programming includes the sensory-friendly night on Dec. 13 and Winter Solstice Celebration on the 21st, featuring our very own King Winter and luminary lighting.
Check our Facebook events @berkscountyparks for up-to-date information on musical acts and food and beverage offerings for each evening’s festivities.
