Last night, on April 3rd, as part of its annual Take the Lead Berks County program, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) honored four local Berks County women leaders at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading, celebrating their commitment to exemplifying courage, confidence, and character to help make the world a better place. Through this program, four Girl Scouts were matched with the honorees to learn more about how they navigate their careers as women and how they better the Berks County community in diverse ways.
The four women leaders that were honored this year are:
- Auria Bradley, M.S., Associate Vice President of Workforce & Continuing Education, Reading Area Community College
- Glynis A. Fitzgerald, Ph.D., President, Alvernia University
- Amanda Hornberger, Chief Operating Officer, Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks
- Christi Sychterz Terefenko, Co-Founder & Executive Director, VOiCEup Berks
This Take the Lead event was transformed to represent the Girl Scout Program’s Pillars of STEM, Life Skills, Outdoors, and Entrepreneurship, and the night was filled with activities, networking, and, of course, Girl Scout Cookies. This ceremony serves as GSEP’s signature fundraising event – helping to provide hundreds of Girl Scouts throughout the Berks County region with financial support so they can experience all that Girl Scout camp has to offer.
