Laconia Contemporary Company announces auditions for This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing by Finegan Kruckemeyer, directed by Beverly Houck.

Audition Format: Please prepare a 30-60 second monologue or text to perform. There will be sides and monologues available at the auditions. Please dress in comfortable clothing!

Description of the play, from the playwright’s website:

Triplet sisters are left in the forest by their woodcutter father. From this fairytale beginning, three resolutions are made – one sister will walk one way, one the other, and the third will stay right where she is. Twenty years later, having circumnavigated the globe, and fought vikings, and crossed oceans, and tamed wilds, and achieved greatness, the three meet again, as women.

Seeking female/non-binary-identifying performers ages 12-20:

Young Albienne, Young Beatrix, Young Carmen

Seeking performers ages 20-100:

Adult Albienne (female/non-binary), Adult Beatrix (female/non-binary), Adult Carmen (female/non-binary), Narrator (male)

All performers in the play will portray small roles in addition to their “main” role.

This is a community theater production performed on a volunteer basis.
