Brian Friel, in his masterpiece, Faith Healer, presents a portrait of an artist as a charlatan/miracle worker who tours with his wife, Grace, and his agent, Teddy. As each character tells us his own story of their lives together, we find ourselves transfixed by the musicality of Friel’s dialogue and the fictions of memory that each story reveals.
