Penn State Berks Theatre Program presents ‘Almost Maine’

Penn State Berks will present its spring mainstage theatre production of “Almost Maine” by John Cariani from Thursday April 21–Saturday April 23, 2022, at 8 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $10 for the general public, $5 for the campus community with a Penn State ID.
“Almost Maine” is composed of nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical town called Almost, Maine. It premiered at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine in 2004 where it broke box office records and garnered critical acclaim. Cariani later adapted the play into a book of the same name.
James Brown, instructor in theatre at Penn State Berks, will direct the production. Penn State Berks students Cori Strauss will act as the stage manager and Heather Alexander will handle sound design.
The cast is composed of Penn State Berks students: Connor Alexander, Andrew Beam, Michael Hall, Richard “Trey” Kirkpatrick, Connor Knowlan, Ayo Ogunleye, Kali Opolsky, Thea Piskorski, and Sunrose Rousnee.
Guest artists Adam Kissinger will provide technical direction and scenic design, Robin Buckwalter will coordinate costume design, and Christopher Connelly will handle lighting design.
