The public is invited to an admission-free event on the evening of October 15, 2022, at the Reading Country Club. Guests will enter the grounds to view a brilliantly lit club surrounded by nine food trucks. They will be entertained by the Mitch Milanek Duo and encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to settle into the night’s atmosphere.
A showcase event will take place inside the grand old club staged for a ticketed, sold-out audience. “Catering by DoubleTree Reading” will decorate and serve in the king’s and queen’s room and the ballroom representing Christmas, wedding, and classic country club entertainment themes. The rooms will feature savory and sweet foods and full bar beverages creatively and abundantly displayed and butlered.
Guests will enjoy Charles Dickens-inspired, costumed characters, actors and the music of The Craig Thatcher Band. The night will conclude with cigars and bourbon around the fire-pit tables on the front patio.
All guests of the showcase event and the outdoor food truck event will be invited to take a chance at prizes. The grand prize will be dinner for 12 with DoubleTree’s Chef Carlos at the Reading Country Club, additional awards of 4 box seats to a future performance at the Santander Arena, and dinners and room-nights at the Doubletree.

This is the first of many events promised to the community and initiated by township supervisors in coordination with Catering by DoubleTree Reading. According to Exeter Township Supervisor George Bell, “We are enjoying a fine working relationship with DoubleTree and expect the October event to be the first of many occasions where the club will be the hub of excitement for the township.”
Guests attending the outdoor food truck event are encouraged to park at Boscov’s East upper lot at 4500 Perkiomen Avenue, where they will be bussed to the Country Club.
