Wyomissing Public Library: “Problems Encountered by the First Women Jurors in Berks County.”

September 24, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Berks History Center Trustee Brian Engelhardt, Esq. will present a program at the Wyomissing Public Library on Saturday, September 24th at 11:30 AM about “Problems Encountered by the First Women Jurors in Berks County.” Besides getting the right to vote in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, the Pennsylvania legislature also guaranteed that women would have the right to serve on juries. Mr. Engelhardt will discuss some of the predicaments that new jurors faced after the legislation went into effect. The program is free and open to the public; registration is requested, and masks are encouraged for non-vaccinated individuals. To register, email [email protected], or call the library at 610-374-2385.
