The Reading Theater Project is thrilled to announce the seventh annual 5-Minute Fringe Festival: wRESTling. Performances will be Thursday, February 24th, through Sunday, February 27th, at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, 3000 Penn Ave., West Lawn, Pennsylvania, 19609. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit: readingtheaterproject.org/5-minute-fringe-2022/
Reading Theater Project is undertaking an initiative this year: the Inclusion Action Project, with a goal of intentionally creating equitable practices on stage and off. We are proud that the performances on stage were written, created, performed and directed by a group of artists diverse in race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and experience.
As with the fall production, mixed MESSages, all tickets are “pay what you will,” meaning the audience member can set the price at purchase. This approach allows anyone to attend the production without ticket price as a barrier to entry. For those looking for guidance, the recommended price is $20 per person. A “pay it forward” price of $40 is also listed, for those who would like to cover the ticket price of another.
The venue, the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, offers free parking for all including wheelchair accessible parking and a fully accessible building, theater seating, and rest rooms.
We are also accepting donations of diapers and feminine hygiene products (pads and tampons) as part of the Help A Girl Out campaign being run by Muhlenberg Greene Architects and Be Mine Boutique. The product donations will go to Opportunity House and The Children’s Home of Reading. Donations may be left in the box office.
The Reading Theater Project is a locally-focused, professional theater company, based in Greater Reading/Berks County, PA. We value collaboration and creative challenges and believe theater is an inclusive experience that can reveal our shared human condition.
