Based on the work of Charles Dickens and reimagined and directed by Jody Reppert. A Christmas Carol at the Yocum Institute Schumo Theater opens Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm.

This classic tale of humor, kindness and the Christmas spirit features live music and a cast of all ages. It is sure to be a holiday treat for the entire family.

“Bah Humbug!” That’s how Ebenezer Scrooge feels about Christmas – until the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future decide to show the crotchety old miser the error of his ways. Together they travel through time, revisiting all the people who have played an important role in Scrooge’s life. And as their journey concludes, Scrooge is reminded of what it means to have love in his heart. This is a traditional retelling of the classic story that includes music and carols.

Staring Terri Mastrobuono as Ebenezer Scrooge. Terri is an actress, writer, storyteller, voice over artist, director. Terri co-founded Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s CoMotion Theater with colleague Camilla Schade, a theater rooted in devised works employing movement techniques. She was co-artistic director there for 7 years.

Terri taught workshops at Yocum in her specialty, Commedia dell’Arte, a quasi-improvised, highly physical comedy of the Italian renaissance. She appeared in Yocum’s touring production of “Charlotte’s Web” as narrator, and directed the delightful Joel Gori in “Balloonacy”.

Her original shows have appeared at Touchstone Theater, Open Stage, Roschel Performing Arts Center, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and in colleges, arts centers, schools, and festivals throughout the East coast and in Italy.

She is currently adjunct faculty at Elizabethtown College and Harrisburg Area Community College, a member of Actor’s Equity Association, and a roster artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Artist in Education program.
