Berks County Commissioners’ COVID-19 Update 5-20-20

The Berks County Commissioners host their weekly COVID-19
Update on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. This meeting features reports from Penn State/St. Joes Hospital and
Tower Health/Reading Hospital Doctors as well a Mental Health report from the Administrator
of Berks County MH/DD.

Presenters include:
Debra Powell, MD Section Chief for Infectious Diseases and Medical Director for
Infection Prevention at Tower Health/Reading Hospital. Dr. Powell has been a frequent
spokesperson for Tower on issues related to COVID-19 in the media and during town
halls and other events.
Dr. Michael Baxter, MD Past Chair of Berks County Medical Society. Past Chair of Tower
Health Family and Community Medicine
Dr. Jeffrey Held Vice President of Medical Affairs at Penn State/St Joes Hospital

Dr. Edward B. Michalik Psy. D. Berks County MH/DD Administrator
