Dreibelbis Station Covered Bridge Rehabilitation

Dreibelbis Station Covered Bridge Rehabilitation

The Dreibelbis Station Bridge was built in 1869. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 23, 1981. It is one of five remaining covered bridges in Berks County and is one of the longest single-span covered bridges remaining in the country. The rehabilitation of this historic bridge strengthened it for continued use while maintaining the bridge’s unique design geometry, and restored it to its original look with red painted sides, clapboard siding, timber Burr arch trusses, timber deck and Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs at each portal for good luck.
