“Nonviolence – The New Story of Human Nature.”

“Nonviolence – The New Story of Human Nature.”

Michael Nagler, co-founder of the Metta Center for Nonviolence, discusses “Nonviolence – The New Story of Human Nature.” He argues that so many of the problems we face – war, poverty, isolation, and the climate crisis – have their roots in an old story about the universe: purposelessness, scarcity, competition, and inevitable violence. Citing the convergence of modern science and the world’s great wisdom traditions, he argues for a new story: the universe is conscious and purposeful, we are spiritual beings, and cooperation and collaboration are our natural relationship. Centering on Peace is hosted by John Hoskyns-Abrahall.
