On Sunday, February 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m., Reading Health will host an entertaining and informative “Heart to Heart” discussion at Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel. This annual event promotes heart health and includes education exhibits, delicious food, a raffle with prizes, chocolate and wine.

A panel of Reading Health physicians and local EMS providers will discuss how to keep your heart healthy, the importance of calling 9-1-1, the critical partnership between EMS and the Reading Hospital heart care team and will answer audience questions. In addition, Bob Myers, avid runner and outdoorsman, will share his personal story of suffering sudden cardiac death at the age of 56 on February 28, 2016, after completing a trail run in Reading. Bob will share the moments leading to his collapse and how the team of healthcare professionals acted quickly to perform lifesaving interventions.

Guests are also invited to participate in the Two Pounds Person Food Challenge led by the Magnet Champion Team at Reading Hospital. By bringing donated food for the Greater Berks Food Bank to the event, guests will receive an extra raffle ticket for each donated item for an extra chance to win the grand prize, an iPad Mini.

Registration is required and tickets must be purchased in advance for $10 by visiting www.readinghealth.org/hearthealthy or calling 484-628-HELP (4357).
