The Truck Stops Here Food Truck Fair at Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles

Boyertown, PA – The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles is thrilled to hold its fifth annual food truck fair on Saturday, June 29 from 12pm-4pm in the Museum’s parking lot.  The Truck Stops Here promises to be an exciting and unique event in Boyertown.  Last year’s event attracted over 1,200 visitors.  Food trucks in attendance this year will be: Dough & Co.(operating out of a 1967 Chevrolet P10 Shorty), Mister Softee (operating out of a 1977 Boyertown Bodied truck), K’s Kitchen, Waffle Mamas, OMG Smoothies, Wow Wagon, Captain Chucky’s (The Pottstown Mercury Reader’s Choice Award for over five years in a row), and Gourmand (gourmet Berks County cuisine).  And new for 2019, Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub and Restaurant will be on hand providing a variety of brews in our beer garden. We are also excited to welcome back The Peppermint Stick Candy Store.  The Peppermint Stick ladies will be serving up refreshing floats in our 1938 Jerry O’Mahony diner.  Spirited Stones Holistics will be in attendance offering up holistic tea along with a variety of organic goodies.

There will be no shortage of entertainment at the food truck fair.  DJ Code Freeze has been to every The Truck Stops Here to enhance the block party atmosphere of this event, and we are looking forward to having him again in 2019.  This year we will also be featuring a special Kid Zone area of the food truck fair where free activities for younger visitors are available, including face painting and balloon art by Mimzy’s Facepainting and More, and a tropical moon bounce!  New for 2019’s The Truck Stops Here the Wheelmen will be performing with their High-Wheel Bicycles.  The Wheelmen is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to keeping alive the heritage of American cycling, promoting the restoration and riding of early cycles manufactured in and before 1932, and encouraging cycling as part of modern living.  This organization follows bicycle development with such types as the Draissine, Velocipede, Boneshaker, Ordinary (also known as a High-Wheeler or Penny Farthing), Tricycle, High Wheel Safety, Hard Tired Safety, Cushion Tire Safety and Pneumatic Safety (including Tandems and Chainless models).  You won’t want to miss this performance.

In the Museum, there will be plenty for visitors to see and do.  Our blacksmith will be operating at the forge for the duration of the event, so make sure you take the time to experience blacksmithing in our 1872 restored carriage factory.  Our special food truck exhibit for 2019’s The Truck Stops Here, entitled Wheels in the Wilderness, will focus on Boyertown Built Tourwagons and the history of camping in the United States.  The exhibit will feature our 1966 Sundowner (named by the vehicle’s longtime owners), a unique display of vintage brochures, and a vast amount of information on camping and how it transformed our view of outdoor recreation in America.  As part of this event we are featuring a roadside display of vintage campers/trailers of all kinds courtesy of the Tin Can Tourists.  The Tin Can Tourists are an all make and model vintage trailer and motor coach club founded in Florida in 1919.  Part of the group’s mission is “to unite fraternally all auto campers.”  Everything from Airstreams to Winnebagos will be on display for this event along South Walnut Street.  While the Tin Can Tourists will only be here for one day, the Wheels in the Wilderness exhibit will be up until November 2019.

Admission to The Truck Stops Here—Mobile Madness is $5.00 per person.  Children ages 6 and under are free.  Admission to the food truck fair also includes admission to the Museum.  Since this event will take place in the Boyertown Museum’s parking lot, parking for visitors will be available at Morrell Funeral Home, Good Shepherd UCC, and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

The Truck Stops Here—Mobile Madness would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, especially our Sundowner Sponsors, Lazy K Campground and the Tin Can Tourists.  Silver Sponsors are Diamond Credit Union of Boyertown, CD’s Place Catering and Eatery, R.T. Brown and Company, PC, Passmore Service Center, Everything Printing, Pollock Auto Restoration, and Adam’s Royal Car Wash.  Our Bronze Sponsors are Spirited Stones Holistics, Gateway Ticketing Systems, Parks Chiropractic, Thrive Acupuncture, Twin Turrets Inn, Eagle Pool and Spa, and True Shine Automotive Detailing.
