United Way of Berks County Has A Million Reasons to Say Thanks

by United Way of Berks County

Jun 12, 2020

During the past few months, almost everything has changed – – from how organizations operate; to our daily routines; to the way we connect with each other. What has not changed is the amazing kindness and generosity of all of you. United Way is so grateful for the offers to volunteer, the words of encouragement and the support for the Berks COVID-19 Response Fund.

There are a MILLION reasons to share thanks with everyone who contributed to the Berks COVID-19 Response Fund. Together, individuals and organizations, gave more than $1 million to help feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and provide so many basic essentials for struggling neighbors. To date, the Response Fund has awarded 33 grants totaling nearly $525,000 to nonprofits serving on the frontlines and helping our most vulnerable residents. Additional grant applications are under review, as challenges and emerging needs continue to evolve. A complete listing of the grants and recipients can be found here.

To better express our gratitude and to share images of those you have helped, please watch our video.

Berks County is caring…it is inspiring…it is resilient. We are UNITED. Thank you.
