Reading, PA : On Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, a food distribution event will be held at the Conrad Weiser Middle School, 347 East Penn Avenue, in the school parking lot. The event is a collaborative effort between the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, the Heidelberg Family Restaurant, and Clover Farms, to provide free, fresh produce, milk, and bread to local families in need. This event is an extension of Olivet’s ongoing food distribution efforts in western Berks County while clubs remain closed to normal programming and operations.
“The Olivet Boys & Girls Club will continue to rise to the challenge in addressing the needs of the youth of our Berks County and their families as the pandemic continues to affect our community. The unprecedented epidemic requires us to collaborate and work with community partners such as Heidelberg Family Restaurant and Clover Farms, and do ”whatever it takes” for our youth throughout Berks,” said Chris Winters, President and CEO, Olivet Boys & Girls Club
“By working with a dedicated youth organization such as the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, we are able to help families in need by providing them some basic staples such as milk, eggs and bread in western Berks County. We are grateful for the working relationship with Olivet, but also the ongoing support from the agricultural community and in particular, Clover Farms Dairy,” said Sabrena Elmarzouky, of the Heidelberg Family Restaurant.
Details and more information leading up to Saturday’s event will be published on the Olivet Facebook page.
