Design an App Prototype with Adobe Xd

Do you have an idea for an app?  Find out how to design an app prototype from scratch – with no coding skills required.

This workshop will introduce the basic features of Adobe Xd, a design tool for web and mobile apps, and is intended for anyone interested in app development. Dan Getz will be explaining the functionality and tools offered by Adobe Xd and how you may apply them through a step-by-step simple app demo.

You will receive an overview of how to set up a project, add art-boards, format text, import images, add interactivity, and share your prototype. You will leave the session with a sample app and a basic understanding of the development tool and resources to guide you to learn and create applications.

3D Printing for Beginners

This hybrid class begins with one virtual zoom class where you will be introduced to Tinkercad, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool plus how to safely utilize the Dremel Digilab 3D printers at the Berks LaunchBox. Tinkercad is a web based, free, design tool which you can also use on your home computer to quickly turn your ideas into a CAD models for 3D printers.

The class ends with an in-person small group session at the LaunchBox to use the printers and learn hands-on. Masks and social distancing will be required.  This class will allow you to become approved to utilize the printers in the future.

A second, in-person class will be scheduled after successful attendance at first class.

Online Selling Clinic

Are you presently selling goods or services online or would like to start?

The Online Selling Pop-up Clinic will cover legal aspects of online selling including taxes, financing, marketing, websites, and cybersecurity. With increasing numbers of people choosing to sell online as a result of COVID-19, this Clinic will give listeners a better idea of some of their legal obligations in selling online.

The Pop-up Clinic will be presented by Penn State Dickinson’s Business Law Society, and will be held in coordination with Berks LaunchBox, Harrisburg LaunchBox, Kutztown SBDC, and Penn State SBDC.

Learn to design and print Stickers

Tinkerers, hobbyists, small businesses – learn how to design and print a sticker with our Roland VersaSTUDIO vinyl plotter. Feel free to bring along your company logo or other small art files on a flash drive to work with.
While you are there, learn about our Makerspace!

Space is limited. Attendees are spaced out with different arrival time slots so very low density. Masks must be worn and social distancing required. Choose your own time slot with a mechanical engineer to guide you.
