Reading Hospital is excited to announce that, effective Oct. 5, H. Christopher Lawson, MD, has been promoted to the role of Division Chief, Neurosurgery.
Dr. Lawson has been with Reading Hospital since 2014, and in this role, he provides leadership for the Division of Neurologic Surgery, which includes both physicians and APPs. This division treats the most complex conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, neurovascular disease, spine disease, epilepsy, stroke, trauma, and cancer.
In 1991, Dr. Lawson began his career in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1995 with University and Department Honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in both Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. In 2000, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he did his neurosurgical residency until June 2007. After completing his training, he worked at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Baltimore Neurosurgery and Spine Center before transitioning to the Reading Hospital in 2014. Currently, Dr. Lawson is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Lawson has been awarded the American Parkinson Disease Association post-doctoral fellowship and the Harvey Cushing Medical Student Hunterian Research Award, among many other recognitions.
