The Berks County Earth Day Committee is proud to announce the 2026 Earth Day Berks Celebration, taking place on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at City Park in Reading. The day will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a special tree planting ceremony and official proclamation, setting the tone for an afternoon dedicated to environmental awareness, sustainability, and community engagement.
A full day of entertainment and activities
The celebration will feature three stages of live entertainment, educational programming, and interactive experiences for all ages.
Attendees can enjoy a diverse lineup of performances, including Reading High School Jazz Band, Golden Twine, Hay Creek Valley Gold Band (Folk/Americana), John King Dance Band (Motown/Funk), and Mark Seaman Drum Circle.
The event will be hosted by Hamilton Newton, who will also provide DJ services throughout the day.
Cultural and educational programming
A dedicated second stage will feature Native American music and storytelling, including performances by Spirit Wing (Barry Lee), Stoney’s Boys, and Turtle Moon.
Environmental speakers and presenters will offer insights on sustainability topics such as solar energy, tree care, and local environmental initiatives. A roaming poet, Phillip Tietbohl, will also engage attendees with interactive art and a live reading.

Please bring a shelf-stable food item or monetary donation to Helping Harvest and take home a starter plant of your choice!
Guests are encouraged to participate in a scavenger hunt-style “Bingo Card” activity, with prizes!
Nonprofit exhibitors and vendors will provide resources, products, and food trucks with options focused on sustainability and community well-being.
