From Reading Housing Authority
Reading Housing Authority (RHA) has launched a new software system that modernizes how the organization delivers services and interacts with the community. The system, Yardi, enables RHA to conduct business virtually with applicants, residents, voucher program participants, landlords, and others through a secure online platform.
Through this system, customers can pay rent, submit work orders, apply for assistance when waiting lists are open, and complete required reporting, reducing the need for in-person visits. The platform is called “Rent Café” and is available at portals.readingha.org.
RHA also anticipates opening its Public Housing waiting list in the near future. Dates will be advertised in the Reading Eagle, posted on the RHA website at readingha.org, and shared with partner entities who have subscribed to information updates.
In conjunction with this upgrade, RHA has realigned office locations to improve the organization’s efficiency and customer experience. The Voucher Programs Office has relocated to the Steven E. Belinski Family Services Complex, 502 McClellan St., Third Floor, Reading, PA, in the center of the Oakbrook Homes community. This office will continue to serve current and new voucher participants, those wishing to “port in” to the City of Reading, and landlords. Members of this team may also be reached by email at vouchers@readingha.org.
The former Voucher Programs Office at 400 Hancock Blvd., Reading, PA, will now operate as the Compliance Department. Staff at this location will assist those who apply for RHA housing programs and customers of all housing programs who are required to engage in annual and interim reporting related to income and household composition. While most services are now available online, in-person assistance remains available when desired by the customer or necessary to meet program requirements.
