From CASA of Berks County

CASA of Berks County is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Biancone, MSW, as its new Executive Director.

Biancone brings a wealth of nonprofit leadership experience, community engagement, and a deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the LGBT Center of Greater Reading, where she guided the organization through a period of significant growth and strengthened partnerships throughout Berks County.

“Laura has been a transformational Executive Director for the LGBT Center of Greater Reading,” said Kai Miller, acting president of the board of directors for the LGBT Center of Greater Reading. “She took the helm at a pivotal moment for our organization, and we are pleased to see her bring that same leadership to CASA. She has worked tirelessly to connect people and organizations in Berks County, and we look forward to seeing the difference she makes for CASA and the families it serves.”

“We see this as a sign of a healthy nonprofit sector, one where executives are encouraged to find roles that match their strengths and grow into bigger opportunities. We wish Laura every success at CASA.”

Biancone is well known to the CASA organization, as she previously served as a volunteer supervisor. As Executive Director, Biancone will lead CASA of Berks County in advancing its mission to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates. Her leadership will focus on strengthening community partnerships, expanding volunteer engagement, and ensuring that every child served has a dedicated advocate to help them achieve a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

“Laura’s vision and passion for CASA of Berks County is palpable,” said Board President Dr. Ben Watts. “We are excited to have her join our team!”

The Board of Directors welcomes Biancone’s vision, leadership, and passion for community collaboration and looks forward to the organization’s continued growth under her direction.
