Help Children Become Better Readers with Star Reader Program

Would you like to help children become better readers and make a difference in their lives?

Volunteer Reading Tutors are needed for the Ready.Set.READ! Program. Each volunteer will tutor one 2nd-grade student who needs extra support with reading to improve their reading skills in time for 3rd grade. No previous teaching experience is required. This opportunity is for anyone interested in volunteering weekly for one hour. Current background clearances are required, and training is provided.

We’re currently recruiting tutors to volunteer at the following school districts: Kutztown Area, Oley Valley, and Reading. Tutor schedule varies based on the school.
