Life Plasma Blood Centers is calling on residents, first responders, community organizations, and businesses to honor Officer Kristen Yeager by giving blood during a two-week memorial blood drive at its Pottstown location.
Life Plasma staff will participate in a special memorial event at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 12, commemorating Officer Yeager’s life, service, and lasting impact on the community. Members of the public are invited to attend the memorial event or donate at any time during regular business hours throughout the campaign.
The memorial blood drive will take place from Aug. 3-7 and from Aug. 10-14, from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Life Plasma Blood Centers, Pottstown Center, located at 223 Shoemaker Road, Suite 171D, Pottstown.
No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. Both first-time and returning blood donors are encouraged to participate. Donors may visit between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any campaign date and do not need to wait for the Aug. 12 memorial event.
One blood donation can help save up to three lives. All blood collected during the campaign will support local hospitals, helping ensure that the gift given by a community member stays within the community and reaches local patients in need. The blood collection itself takes about 10 minutes. Those few minutes can make a lifesaving difference for trauma victims, mothers during childbirth, patients with chronic conditions, and people undergoing complex surgeries.
“Officer Yeager dedicated her life to protecting and serving others. We are asking the community to continue that legacy by taking a few minutes to give blood and help save the lives of local patients,” said Nagesh Ramesh, Ph.D., president of Life Plasma Blood Centers. “One donation can reach as many as three people. Together, we can ensure that Officer Yeager’s courage, compassion, and commitment to others continue to make a difference.”
Officer Yeager served with the Central Berks Regional Police Department. She was killed in an automobile crash on May 29, 2026, while responding to assist a neighboring law enforcement agency. She is survived by her husband and three children.
For every completed blood donation made during the memorial campaign, Life Plasma Blood Centers will also make a financial contribution to Officer Yeager’s family. Life Plasma is challenging the community to fill the donor chairs throughout the campaign. By giving blood, donors can help save local lives while carrying forward Officer Yeager’s legacy of courage, service, and care.
