From Wyomissing Public Library
The Wyomissing Public Library will turn back the clock to the Prohibition era on Saturday, Aug. 29, as it hosts Roaring Stacks: A Speakeasy Soirée at the Library, a fundraising event to benefit the library’s programs and services. The event will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at the library, which is located at 9 Reading Blvd. in Wyomissing.
The historic building will be transformed into a 1920s-style speakeasy, complete with live music, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a darts challenge with Mark Twain, and more. Tickets are $100.00 per person, with attendance limited to 160 guests.
All event proceeds will directly support the Wyomissing Public Library’s programs and community resources, including early literacy initiatives, digital access services, and public programming that serves thousands of area residents each year.
Guests are encouraged (though not required) to dress in 1920s-inspired attire for the evening. Please note, actual tickets will not be issued, as attendees’ names will be added to the event guest list.
