CASA of Berks County ‘Gala of Light’ to Benefit Children in Foster Care

From CASA of Berks County

CASA of Berks County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Berks County court system, announced its “Gala of Light: Changing Lives, Brightening Futures,” a fundraising celebration honoring the community members and volunteers who make the organization’s mission possible.

The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., at Building 24 in Reading. Proceeds from the evening will directly support CASA of Berks County’s work recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer advocates who are appointed by judges to represent the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are involved in the dependency court system.

“Every child who comes through our court system deserves someone in their corner, a consistent, caring adult who shows up for them and makes sure their voice is heard,” said Laura Biancone, Executive Director of CASA of Berks County. “Our Gala of Light is about honoring the volunteers and community partners who make that possible, and it’s an opportunity for our community to come together and invest directly in brighter futures for local kids.”

Tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and additional event details are available at casaberks.org or by scanning the QR code on the event flyer.
