A New Chapter for WXAC 91.3

A New Chapter for WXAC 91.3

From Centro Hispano

A new sound is coming from WXAC 91.3 FM. After working alongside Albright College over the past year to bring the station into the Centro Hispano family, Centro has completed the move to a new studio at Visions Studio on the Albright College campus. On Sept. 8, the team tested the signal from the new studio to the station’s tower, marking an exciting step forward for Reading’s only community radio station.

For Centro, this is about much more than moving equipment from one studio to another. WXAC, “La Primera,” gives Centro another way to bring people closer together through music, news, podcasts, conversations, and local stories. It creates a place where community voices can be heard and where students and residents can share their experiences, ideas, and culture.

The new studio will also continue to provide hands-on opportunities for at least 10 Albright students each semester through radio programs, internships, and other educational experiences. We’re grateful to Albright College for its partnership and to Visions Federal Credit Union, the County of Berks, and the Wyomissing Foundation for helping make this next chapter possible.

This successful move is just the beginning. Centro will celebrate the new chapter with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the coming weeks, and we’re excited to share more about what’s ahead for WXAC and the community it serves.

Our music. Our culture. Our voice.

Tune in to WXAC 91.3.
