For more than a decade, Zoe’s House has been committed to changing the lives of dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
Since its founding in 2012, the grassroots, volunteer-based rescue has helped save more than 5,000 dogs, providing medical care, rehabilitation, foster homes, and the opportunity for a second chance. Now, Zoe’s House is taking that mission beyond rescue.
Zoe’s House Vet Clinic, located at 220 N. Park Road, Building 6, in Wyomissing, is becoming an independent veterinary entity serving the public, bringing the organization’s years of experience caring for rescue animals to families throughout the community.
It started with a mobile clinic: The journey began in 2021, when Zoe’s House started building a mobile veterinary clinic in response to the challenges of obtaining timely veterinary care for their foster dogs during COVID-19.
After two years of development, the mobile unit launched in 2023 and allowed Zoe’s House to perform approximately 90% of its rescue veterinary care in-house, giving the organization greater control over the timing and delivery of medical care for its dogs. But the rescue quickly outgrew the mobile unit.
As Zoe’s House began offering limited low-cost veterinary appointments to the community, demand demonstrated an even greater need. The organization opened its brick-and-mortar clinic in February 2026, initially focused primarily on caring for its own rescue and foster population.
Now, Zoe’s House is taking the next step: opening that veterinary resource fully to the public. Affordable veterinary care is the mission: Zoe’s House Vet Clinic is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with two veterinarians on staff and a friendly team of technicians and office staff.
Services include wellness and sick visits, vaccinations, preventative care, diagnostic testing, bloodwork, spay and neuter procedures, dental care, surgery, and other veterinary services.
“Zoe’s House has always been about helping animals and the people who love them,” said Lakin Minnich, President of Zoe’s House. “The veterinary clinic grew out of a need we had within rescue, but we quickly saw how much it could mean to the community. Now we have the opportunity to help even more pets get the care they need.”
The clinic’s mission is straightforward: provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care at prices families can afford.
For Zoe’s House, the goal is not simply to treat animals. It is to help make veterinary care more accessible, so families don’t have to face the difficult choice between financial limitations and the health of a beloved pet.
“Where rescue is just the beginning” has long been Zoe’s House’s philosophy. The new veterinary clinic is the next chapter in that mission — expanding the organization’s impact from saving dogs in need to helping families keep their pets healthy, happy, and at home.
