From Office of State Rep. Manuel Guzman Jr.
State Rep. Manuel Guzman Jr. recently announced that Kuljeet Sangha, a 17-year-old Governor Mifflin High School student from Shillington, served as the 127th Legislative District’s youth delegate for a special Pennsylvania House of Representatives session at Congress Hall in Philadelphia.
The session, held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the historic site where the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights were debated, commemorated the 250th anniversaries of the Declaration of Independence and the Pennsylvania Constitution. During the session, lawmakers voted on two resolutions commemorating the anniversaries.
Sangha joined more than 80 students from across Pennsylvania through a civic education initiative held in partnership with America250PA, giving students firsthand experience with state government and democracy while exploring Pennsylvania’s founding history.
“Kuljeet is a true example of the dedication and leadership we hope to see in the next generation,” Guzman said. “His dedication to his school and community, combined with his ambition for the future, made him the ideal choice to represent our district at this historic session.”
Sangha, who serves as Class President, National Honor Society Co-President, Soccer and Tennis Team Captain, TSA TEAMS Captain, and Student School Board Representative, expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
“It’s an incredible honor to represent my community at Congress Hall and learn firsthand how our state government works,” Sangha said. “This experience has deepened my appreciation for Pennsylvania’s role in shaping our nation’s history, and I’m grateful to Rep. Guzman for this opportunity, said Sangha, who is also involved in Mifflin Mentors and currently serves as an intern at RPA Engineering and the O’Pake Institute.
Sangha plans to double major in either Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and Business, hopefully at MIT, and eventually start his own engineering consulting firm.
“I have no doubt that great things are ahead for Kuljeet, and I look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes,” Guzman added.
