Berks Encore will host its annual Senior Expo on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at FirstEnergy Stadium, 1900 Centre Ave., Reading. The event is free and open to the public.
Older adults, caregivers, families, and community members are invited to connect with more than 80 vendors offering information on senior services, Medicare and insurance, housing, legal and financial matters, health and wellness, recreation, and other community resources.
The Expo will also feature educational seminars, cooking and wellness demonstrations, and “Expo Bingo,” with chances to win a three-day, two-night Festival of Lights bus trip for two from White Star Tours or a $100 Redner’s Markets gift card.
Attendees are encouraged to support Berks Encore’s beSanta initiative by bringing an item for a homebound senior. BARTA’s Stuff-A-Bus will be located outside the stadium’s main gates to collect donations.
Suggested items include large-print activity books, adult coloring books, colored pencils, lotion, jar openers, small notepads, and electric or microwavable heating pads. These donations will help Berks Encore bring comfort and holiday joy to homebound seniors throughout Berks County.
