From Reading Public Library Foundation
Reading Public Library announced on Monday, Nov. 2, that Brad and Barbara Hall have been named as the Campaign Chairs of the library’s 2026 Annual Appeal.
Brad and Barbara Hall are volunteers, advocates, and supporters of several community agencies, including the United Way of Berks County, Centro Hispano, Ready.Set.READ!, and Reading Area Community College. Their dedication to community literacy and education is a driving force for their service as this year’s Annual Appeal chairs.
“This cherished and dynamic community resource impacts so many lives by opening doors to opportunities,” explained Barbara when asked why she and Brad decided to take on this critical role. “It is our hope that our community joins us in supporting this campaign so we can continue to keep the library’s doors open, too.”
The goal for the 2026 campaign is $65,000. The donations from the campaign will directly sustain the library’s daily operations, including free programs and services like early literacy programming, after-school activities for teens, workforce development, senior outreach, and much more.
“Barbara and Brad share a deep commitment to literacy, education, and the well-being of our community,” said Carolyn Shultz Spano, Director of Development. “Their dedication to making a meaningful difference in their neighbors’ lives makes them wonderful leaders for this year’s Annual Appeal. We are grateful for their support and hope their example inspires others to invest in the library’s programs and services that help our community thrive, especially as the future of public funding remains uncertain.”
