The following guidelines are for use of the green screen/virtual background in the BCTV studio.
- No more than THREE people can be on the set for a show that uses green screen
- Host and guests must avoid wearing ANY clothing with green or it will blend into the background. This includes patterns, accessories, and all hues of green.
- Green screen is meant for people on the set to be seated. In most instances, wide shots of people standing, excessive movement or dancing, or that show the floor will ruin the effect.
- Producers may supply images of their choice for the green screen backdrop image.
- Please provide high-quality jpeg images of 3200×2400 pixels (or larger).
- Staff will adjust the selected image to fit the set needs.
- Background images should not depict words or numbers.
- Background images should not be too bright, or ‘busy’ so as to be distracting to the viewer.
- Allow TWO weeks for BCTV staff to work with the images to ensure the set looks right before your show.
- Feel free to consult with BCTV staff regarding any of the green screen process.
