WCR Center for the Arts Presents Susan Biebuyck Exhibition Reception Prior to Hot Club of Reading Concert

From WCR Center for the Arts

The WCR Center for the Arts is pleased to present an exhibition of work by painter Susan Biebuyck, with a reception on Saturday, April 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., before The Hot Club of Reading Allstars takes the stage at 7 p.m. for a special performance celebrating more than a decade of music, collaboration, and community.

About the exhibition

Biebuyck’s work explores two distinct directions: vibrant still life paintings of food, nature, and energy created with a bold “dopamine color palette,” alongside pieces rooted in contemporary and historical appropriation that examine people’s relationships with art. Her dynamic use of color and concept offers viewers both a sensory and thought-provoking experience.

Biebuyck has also been a studio artist at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA, since 2005. She is also the Founder and Gallery Director of Studio B Fine Arts Gallery in Boyertown, PA, where she has supported and exhibited thousands of artists in an inclusive, community-focused space since 2008.

Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments while exploring the exhibition and meeting the artist. The exhibition will remain on view through the end of April.

About the concert

This concert is part of Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest and Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) 2026, a nationwide celebration held each April to honor the history, artistry, and cultural impact of jazz music. The Hot Club of Reading Allstars’ performance is a fitting tribute to the spirit of jazz, blending tradition with innovation.

This commemorative concert brings together an all-star lineup of musicians who have contributed to the band’s evolution and success over the years. The evening’s program will showcase selections spanning the group’s early repertoire through their most recent arrangements and original compositions, offering audiences a rich musical journey through the band’s history.

Set in the intimate and acoustically rich venue at the WCR Center for the Arts, the performance will highlight the ensemble’s signature sound in its purest form, allowing the music to be experienced as it was meant to be heard.

Featured musicians include Josh Taylor, Josiah Taylor, Chris Heslop, Kevin MacConnell, Andy Roberts, Mike Nikolidakis, Al Rochlin, and Trey LaRue, each bringing their unique artistry to this celebratory event.

Tickets are available now. Don’t miss this special evening of live music celebrating the legacy and future of jazz in the community: wcrcenter.org/eventcalendar.
