Substance Abuse Treatment for Specialized Populations | Council on Chemical Abuse

Yvonne Stroman, Community Programs Specialist at the Council on Chemical Abuse, hosts a discussion with Tom McDermitt, Regional Director of Business Development at Caron Treatment Centers, regarding substance abuse treatments tailored to specialized populations.

These populations include groups that may face unique barriers to accessing care, such as veterans, older adults, youth, members of the LGBTQ+ community, pregnant and parenting individuals, people involved in the justice system, those experiencing homelessness, and members of culturally diverse communities. In this episode, learn how quality treatment is delivered through cultural humility, trauma-informed practices, and a steadfast commitment to meeting individuals where they are with dignity and respect.
