VRC Client Peggy Kogut | Insight

An interview featuring Peggy Colgate, who was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration about 12 years ago and has since advanced to G.A. (geographic atrophy). Peggy discussed how her vision loss has gradually progressed, affecting her ability to drive and engage in activities like needlepoint and large puzzles, though she can still perform many daily tasks and crafts with adaptations. She highlighted transportation as her biggest challenge, relying on family and friends for support, and shared how joining Vision Resource Center (VRC) 4-5 years ago helped her learn independence strategies and connect with others facing similar challenges. The interview covered Peggy’s experiences with various adaptive tools and crafts provided by VRC, with her expressing particular enjoyment of making wreaths and blankets.
