As the Reading Fightin Phils arrived at FirstEnergy Stadium for the first time on Monday afternoon, there was a familiar face there to greet them: Fightin Phils super fan Adam Briscoe.
The coaching staff and players greeted Briscoe in open arms as returning players got a chance to see their friend, plus first year Fightin Phils players got a chance to be introduced to him for the first time.
Briscoe was in an accident on January 4th and suffered severe injuries. He has since then battled back and is excited for another season of Fightin Phils baseball! He will be in attendance on Opening Night on Thursday, April 13th at 7:05 p.m. when the Fightins host the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The Fightin Phils are giving fans the opportunity to celebrate Adam, and his recovery!
Opening Night will not only be a celebration of a new season in Baseballtown but also for Adam who will help present the lineup cards at home plate. In addition to Adam being on the field before the game, fans will receive a commemorative poster, courtesy of the Reading Eagle. Photos will be taken during the Opening Night National Anthem, and line-up card delivery. Those photos will be rushed to the Reading Eagle, where the special poster will be printed while fans enjoy the game. In the later innings, the Reading Eagle will deliver the poster for fans to receive as they exit. The coolest thing is that fans seated in America’s Classic Ballpark will be in the photo – meaning fans can actually receive a poster with them on it as they exit!
“When Adam was injured, Fightins fans reached out to us inquiring about Adam, and how they could help”, said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. “When it became apparent that Adam would be here for Opening Night, April 13th, we wanted to make sure it was a special night for him, and his family. Adam’s family, friends, and care-givers will be on hand as guests of the Fightins to see Adam exchange the line-up card, and stand at home plate for the Anthem. “
Also, fans will get the opportunity to celebrate Adam by being able to purchase an Adam Briscoe Bobble-Arm Bobble-head on Opening Night thanks to Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram! The bobble-head will be available in limited quantities for fans to purchase and support Adam! The custom made bobble-head is designed to mimic the unique dancing style of Adam as his arms will go up and down! All proceeds will be donated to the benefit of Adam Briscoe thanks to the generosity of Savage 61.
“In addition, as Adam has also danced many times at Savage 61 events, Tim Profit and Savage 61 stepped up to purchase the custom designed Briscoe Disco bobble arm statues.”, added Hunsicker. “The limited quantity of Briscoe Bobble Arms will be sold on opening night, with 100% of the sale price going to the benefit of Adam Briscoe. It’s a great opportunity for fans to have a special bobble arm statue, and help Adam in his recovery. We can’t thank Tim and Savage 61 enough for their overwhelming generosity.”
