AVCP Holiday Market Tonight!

AVCP Holiday Market Tonight!

Thank you to everyone in our extended Antietam Valley Farmers Market family for making our third year of the farmer’s market so much fun! Our hope was that our market would become a gathering place — a hub of the community — a place to go to catch up with your neighbors, support our local farmers and vendors, and a home for our community groups. Thank you for helping to build the market!

Today is our final market of 2017! Join us for a special Holiday Happy Hour Market from 5-8 pm. Santa will be in the house! And Dan Spollen playing sounds of the season from 5-6.

Food is by our neighborhood favorite, Klinger’s on Carsonia. They’ll offer crab bisque, chili, pulled pork, and hot dogs. They are open again at their location on Carsonia Avenue, back and better than ever following their recent challenges following a devastating fire. Please stop by their restaurant and support Mark and the whole Klinger family! And our friends at Reading Distilling Guild will be offering cocktails for sale, to  help make your evening merry and bright!

Welcome three new-to-us guest vendors: Funny Farm Apiaries, Over Home Alpacas, and Annmarie Cantrell of Cucina Verde!

Funny Farm Apiaries has been hard at work flavoring lots of honey. They will have roughly 25 different flavors infused honey at the market. All of their honey is raw and some flavor infused. Not sure what flavor you will like? Stop by and have a taste of their many flavors. Theywill have gift baskets for those special people on your list. Looking for a unique gift? Adopt a hive or Adopt a bee as a gift, not only do you give someone special a unique gift you also help save the bees. FFA also have stocking stuffers, wine cork snowmen, lip balm and more, and  will have all their Raw Honey products available and beeswax.

Over Home Alpacas raises quality Suri alpacas on a 90-acre farm in Bethel, PA that has been in the family for six generations. Their alpaca herd produces premium, luxury fiber known for its strength, luster & fineness. The fiber creates products that are soft & lightweight yet extremely warm and is hypoallergenic. They have raw fiber for spinning & crafts, a variety of yarn weights in natural and naturally dyed colors and a wide selection of clothing, accessories and finished alpaca products available. Perfect holiday gifts!

Annmarie Cantrell was a guest at our market during the summer season, featuring a wonderful cooking demo…now she’s back with her own line of products! Cucina Verde is excited to be at market this Friday. They make small batch probiotic rich lacto-fermented foods. They carry a variety of flavors like Apple Fennel Kraut, Kurry Kraut, Curtido , Kim Chi and 3-D Kraut (A combination of cabbage, dandelion greens, daikon and dulse). For this market, they are offering holiday gift bags for the foodies in your lives. A functional jute bags holds 2 jars of kraut and a DIY fermenting kit for $25. They will also have some lacto fermented cranberry apple relish and 5 spice apple relish for your holiday appetizers or condiments to your main meal. The Little Free Library at market will be filled with a cornucopia of books for the reading pleasure of both young and old. Tis the holiday season for cooking and baking and the library is stocked full with an assortment of tempting cookbooks. Stop by market and pick up a book for yourself or a friend. We are grateful for everyone in our community who have donated books – thank you! Happy Holidays to you and yours. Little Free Library – Always a gift, never for sale.

Our Little Free Library (LFL) is part of the LFL book exchange around the world, promoting a literacy-friendly neighborhood and the love of reading by providing a hub for books to be shared. Our Little Free Library was designed and built by volunteers and is reminiscent of a vintage Carsonia Park ticket booth. Visit the Farmers’ Market  to Take a Book, Share a Book, or Give a Book. Our LFL is registered on the World Map at www.littlefreelibrary.org. It will be available for use during market hours only. We would like to thank everyone who generously donated books to the Little Free Library at market. It is a great source of enjoyment for both young and old and helps spread the power of sharing books and the joy of reading. If you have books you no longer want, please consider donating them to our Free Little Library.  We’ll make it easy for you: Look for our donation bin next to the LFL at market where you can drop and then shop.
