Jump Rope for Heart continues to raise awareness at Twin Valley Elementary Center

Feb 07, 2018 • by Twin Valley School District
Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart is a school-wide event that Twin Valley Elementary Center participates in annually. Students in grades K-4 spend five weeks working on their cardiovascular endurance through a variety of jump rope activities. In addition to jump roping, students are also learning how the heart works and how to keep their heart healthy.

“Throughout the five weeks, our entire school raises money for the American Heart Association. Jump Rope for Heart Day is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s so fun to watch our students participate in jump rope activities after they worked so hard to reach their goals. I am also excited to announce that this year our 4th grade students will receive CPR training by our school nurse, Alicia Williams.” – Heather McHugh, TVEC Physical Education Teacher.

“Over the past five years, Twin Valley Elementary Center has been one of the largest fundraisers for the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart campaign.  We’re very proud of our students efforts to give back to the community by raising money for a great cause, but also our work teaching them about living a healthy heart lifestyle.” – Craig Sell, TVEC Principal
