Toni Miller Named ATHENA Award recipient by Berks Women2Women

Reading, PA – Women2Women, a program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), has announced that the 2018 ATHENA Award recipient is Toni M. Miller. Miller is Senior Executive Vice President – Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Boscov’s, Inc.

Toni Miller has 40 years of retail experience in finance and operations, having start her career in direct marketing and expanded into retail stores, food services, hospitality, and manufacturing. Prior to joining Boscov’s, Toni spent more than 27 years with Bass Pro Shops, where she was most recently Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

A graduate of Southern Nazarene University, Missouri State University, and Webster University, Miller serves on various retail industry boards and councils, in addition to a variety of local committees and boards, including the Board of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Berks County United Way Finance Committee; she has also volunteered for many nonprofit organizations.

Miller’s passion for children, education, and her community are a transformative force. She has a passion for helping students afford and obtain a college education and has established a scholarship fund through her alma mater. Miller has also provided educational funds to an orphanage and church ministry in Romania and also being a mentoring parent to some Reading area college students   She has also taken part in several work mission trips in Eastern Europe as a way to also give back to people in need.

In 2014, Toni was recognized by Lehigh Valley Business Journal as CFO of the Year and in 2015 received the distinguished “Take the Lead” Award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania.  In January 2017, she was recognized by the National Retail Federation as a “Power Player” on the List of People Shaping Retail’s Future – 2017.

The ATHENA Leadership Award was inspired by the goddess of Greek mythology known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment – qualities embodied in the ATHENA Leadership Model. The Award is unique in both scope—local, national and international—and the ATHENA mission upon which it is based. The ATHENA Leadership Award is presented to a woman —or man— who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.

The ATHENA award breakfast is part of the annual Women2Women Spring Expo, held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Crowne Plaza Reading. Tickets for the ATHENA Breakfast and all-day Expo passes are available at www.greatereadingchamber.org.
