Three Lions Earn Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Honors

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Albright Lions men’s lacrosse team had three athletes be named to the MAC Commonwealth Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference team, announced by the conference on May 1.

Senior JJ Boliaux earned first team honors, while freshman James Gorman tallied second team honors, and senior goalkeeper Ryan Aler garnered honorable mention honors.

Boliaux earned All-Conference honors for the second straight season at short stick specialist after garnering honorable mention honors last season. He led the team with 53 ground balls, while ranking ninth in the conference with 3.53 ground balls per game. Boliaux appeared in all 15 games for Albright and set a new career highs with seven assists and 11 points. He also set a new career high with 11 caused turnovers, while matching his career best with four goals on the year.

Gorman hit the ground running immediately in his freshman season at Albright by leading the team with 41 points behind 18 goals and 23 assists that also led the team. His offensive numbers ranked among the top of the conference among freshman players as he led all freshman players in assists, while ranking sixth overall in the conference. Gorman also led all freshman players in total points and ranked third among the class in goals. He posted a pair of six point performances for the Lions this season which was the highest single-game point total by any player on the team.

Aler earned All-Conference honorable mention honors for the second time in his collegiate career at Albright after making the team in the 2016 season. The senior was stellar in net for the Lions as he set a new program record for highest save percentage in a single season at .582. His save percentage ranked third in the commonwealth, while his career best 8.40 GAA ranked second lowest in the conference. Aler also set a new single game program record against Stevenson this season with 28 saves.
